A leadership team can be full of genuinely strong individual managers and still be inconsistent as a team: one manager coaches problems out of people, another avoids the conversation entirely, a third has never been taught either way. Individually, everyone's doing fine. Together, there's no shared standard for what good leadership actually looks like.

Group coaching brings a cohort of leaders through the same coaching engagement together, building shared language and shared expectations instead of leaving consistency to chance. It's not the same as our manager training series, which delivers a set curriculum to a group. Group coaching is a coached engagement that flexes around what this specific cohort is actually navigating, the same personalized approach as individual coaching, applied to a team instead of one person.

Because a leadership team that hears five different things isn't actually aligned.

Group Coaching

What This Looks Like

1. Kick off and align

A kickoff conversation with the sponsor to understand the cohort, the shared goals, and the organizational context driving the engagement.

2. Get to know the group

Pre-work for each participant, alongside a look at the shared dynamics and goals the cohort is bringing into the room, plus assessments like DISC or strengths tools where they'll build a common vocabulary for how the team leads and communicates.

3. Build skills together

Sessions that build on each other and use peer learning as part of the coaching itself, so leaders aren't just hearing the same material, they're working through it side by side.

4. Apply it to an Applied Initiative

Rather than closing the engagement with a workshop, the cohort takes on an Applied Initiative together, a real, shared piece of work like a cross-team process, a leadership playbook, or a rollout the group is already accountable for. It gives the group a concrete outcome to build toward, not just a set of skills to remember.

5. Check in with the sponsor

Progress check-ins keep the sponsor informed on how the cohort, and the Applied Initiative, are developing, without turning sessions into a performance review.

6. Hand off something the team keeps using

The completed Applied Initiative, plus a shared playbook and set of tools the cohort carries forward, so consistency doesn't quietly fade once the engagement ends.

What is group coaching at Workplace Harmony?

Group coaching is a cohort-based coaching engagement for a leadership team or group of managers, built to create shared language and shared expectations across the group rather than coaching each person separately. It runs on Workplace Harmony's HEAL framework, created by Dr. Domonique ‘Dr. Dom’ Revere, and flexes around what the specific cohort is navigating.

How is group coaching different from Workplace Harmony's manager training series?

The manager training series delivers a set curriculum to a group. Group coaching is a coached engagement that adapts to the specific cohort's goals and dynamics, using peer learning and ongoing sessions rather than a fixed set of training modules.

Who is a typical group coaching cohort?

A group coaching cohort is usually one company's intact leadership team or a group of managers working together. The one exception is a private equity sponsor, who can build a cohort with leaders from any number of portfolio companies to build shared leadership capability across the portfolio.

Can group coaching include leaders from multiple companies?

Generally, group coaching cohorts come from a single company. Private equity sponsors are the exception: a PE firm can bring leaders together from across several portfolio companies into one cohort.

How is group coaching different from individual or executive coaching?

Individual coaching works with one leader on one goal, and executive coaching (Executive Elevate) is built for leaders navigating major organizational change. Group coaching works with a cohort of leaders at once, building shared language and consistency across a team rather than focusing on a single person.

How We Show Up

A process built around The group

Group coaching runs on the same HEAL framework (Humanize, Evolve, Align, Lift), created by Dr. Domonique ‘Dr. Dom’ Revere, that’s behind every Workplace Harmony coaching engagement, applied across a cohort instead of one leader.

Looking for Something Different?

Group coaching is one of three ways Workplace Harmony coaches leaders.

Individual Coaching: for one leader working on one specific goal.
Executive Coaching: for leaders navigating major organizational change, like a merger or reorganization.

Group coaching cohorts are typically one client's intact leadership team, with one exception: a PE sponsor can build a cohort that draws leaders from any number of portfolio companies, giving operating partners a way to build shared leadership capability across the portfolio rather than one company at a time.
